Minds in Session provides independent expert witness assessment and medico-legal reports to courts, tribunals, solicitors, barristers and local authorities across the UK. Our multidisciplinary team includes consultant psychiatrists, HCPC-registered clinical and forensic psychologists, and accredited therapists, covering criminal, family, civil and employment matters.

 

We are instructed for ADHD and autism assessment for adults, children and young people, including forensic presentations, and we are ADOS-2, ADI-R and DISCO accredited. We also provide forensic risk assessment, parenting capacity and family assessment, psychiatric reports on fitness to plead and criminal responsibility, and trauma and psychological injury reports including PTSD and complex PTSD.

 

Our clinicians have worked for years within the prison system and alongside police services, so the opinion you receive is grounded in the settings your case concerns. We are experienced in giving oral evidence and being cross-examined.

 

We act as Single Joint Experts and accept legal aid instructions at LAA rates. Typical turnaround is four to six weeks, with urgent instructions accommodated. Assessments are offered in English, Portuguese, Spanish, French and Farsi, in person or by secure video, London based and UK-wide.
